Welcome to Desi Fest Battle of the Bands, the ultimate musical showdown! This is your chance to showcase your talent, compete against the best emerging bands, and make your mark in the music industry. Whether you play Bollywood, Rock, Punjabi, Folk, Fusion, Indie music or any music, we’re looking for the most electrifying performers to take the stage!

Who Can Participate?
This event isn’t just about competition, it’s about Music, Culture, and Luton Community. This competition is open to all inspired bands whether you are from South Asian background or any other background, you need to have at least three or more members. Whether you are a School / College / University group, an upcoming band, or a passionate group of friends living or based in Luton, this is your opportunity to shine!

The HEATS – When & Where?
The HEATS (elimination rounds) will be taking place in different locations before the Grand Finale. Here’s a breakdown:

Heat 1: 10th May 2025 at The Hat Factory, 65-67 Bute Street, Luton, LU1 2EY.

Heat 2: 17th May 2025 at The Hat Factory, 65-67 Bute Street, Luton, LU1 2EY.
-
Grand Finale: 14th June 2025 at Luton Library Theatre, St George Squire, Luton, LU1 2NG.
Winners from each heat will qualify for the Final Battle, where the best of the best will compete for the grand prize, industry recognition, and exclusive performance opportunities!

Judging Criteria
Bands perform a cover of their own choosing and Bands are scored on the following:

Technical Proficiency (5 Points) - How well do band members know their instrument?

Musicality (5 Points) - Accomplishment in music, quality of song construction, expressiveness, blend, balance of instruments etc.

Performance (5 Points) - Confidence, stage presence, enjoyment

Creativity (5 Points) - Originality of music. Did they make the music their own?​

Audience Appeal (5 Points) - Did they engage with the audience?

How to Register
Ready to take the stage? Follow these steps:

Fill out the form with your band’s details.

Please email your completed & signed form to df-bob@desifest.co.uk before Monday 5th May 2025 to secure your place in this ultimate musical showdown!.
